50% done: Citra rotates highest pierhead in Sucat area
The Skyway Stage 2 project has breached the halfway mark of accomplishment in April 2010, and still ahead of its target schedule. As of April 25, 2010, twelve months after construction officially began in May 2009, the project is already 51.03% completed and continues to surpass its official accomplishment schedule.

To celebrate this achievement, Citra Metro Manila Tollways Corp. (CMMTC), together with Skyway O&M Corp. (SOMCO) and D.M. Consunji, Inc. (DMCI) invited officers of partner-banks, government officials from the Department of Public Works & Highways, the Toll Regulatory Board, and the Office of the Solicitor General as well as the officials of the cities of Parañaque and Muntinlupa, to witness the May 4 rotation of the last and the highest pierhead (18.5 meters) of the Skyway structure in Sucat using the frictionless rotating device known as the “sosrobahu,” a patented Indonesian construction technology.
The construction of the on/off ramps in Sucat and Alabang is ongoing with CMMTC and DMCI working at breakneck pace to complete the road re-alignment and widening and the foundation works for the ramps. SOMCO, meanwhile, has beefed up its traffic operations to keep traffic moving and ensure the safety of motorists and workers. Currently, work on the elevated road structure is being accelerated. DMCI has deployed additional work teams to install and concrete the deck slab support, wall parapets and road curbs.
Skyway Stage 2 is the 6.88-kilometer elevated toll road from Bicutan to Alabang that will extend the existing 9.5-km Skyway Stage 1 from Buendia to Bicutan for a total of over 16 kms elevated road where travel between Alabang and Buendia will be breeze at less than 12 minutes after May 2011.
