Skyway activities to affect traffic
With the fullblast construction of Skyway Stag2 project, starting June 14, 2008, the toll road portion between the Skyway advance column No. 1 and No. 13 at the Bicutan at-grade section of the Skyway System will be reduced from two (2) regular lanes to two (2) sub-standard lanes that can allow only one (1) car or jeep and one (1) bus or truck to run side by side each other. This traffic plan is being implemented to give way to the concreting and rotation of pierheads on the remaining Skyway advance columns.
As traffic is expected to slow down in above-mentioned toll road portion, an adequate number of traffic control personnel will be deployed 24/7 to ensure that traffic moves and that motorists and workers are safe. Traffic and safety devices (i.e. running/flashing lights, signages, etc.) will also be installed strategically at the approaches of and within the project site.
The management of Citra Metro Manila Tollways Corporation, the project proponent of the South Metro Manila Skyway Project, again appeals to the Skyway and SLEX motorists for their understanding and cooperation. They also have the option to use alternate routes (i.e. East/West Service Roads or the Skyway elevated section). "30"
