Tollway's South Station Exit in Alabang to be closed
Skyway operator, Skyway O&M Corporation (SOMCO), announced today that all the lanes at Alabang's South Station Exit Plaza will be closed starting at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. This will allow the Skyway contractor, DMCI, to widen the South Station roadway and construct the Stage 2 Alabang on/off ramps. Motorists going to the business, commercial and residential areas centers in Alabang or Las Pinas can exit at the Filinvest Toll Plaza or the Alabang Southbound Exit Plaza.
To manage the expected higher number of vehicles at the Filinvest and Alabang Plazas, SOMCO will field additional ambulant tellers and traffic enforcers.
According to Ed Nepomuceno, SOMCO Head of Special Operations and Projects, the South Station exit is expected to be closed for the duration of around one month. He appealed for motorists' understanding and cooperation considering that the closure will allow DMCI to work unimpeded and complete the Stage 2 Skyway faster .
The Skyway Stage 2 project involves the extension of the Skyway's elevated toll road from Bicutan to Alabang.
