Toll-free at Skyway/SLEX on Christmas, New Year
Toll fees will not be collected from motorists who will traverse the Skyway System's Magallanes-Alabang at-grade and Buendia-Bicutan elevated sections and the South Luzon Tollway's Alabang-Calamba stretch from 10 p.m. on Dec. 24, 2009, until 6 a.m. on Dec. 25, 2009; and from 10 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2009 until 6 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2010.
The operators of these tollroads, Skyway O&M Corp. (SOMCO) and the Philippine National Construction Corp. (PNCC), would like to extend to its motoring patrons this simple Christmas token in appreciation of their patronage.
All E-Pass users who load up their E-Pass manually are also advised that the E-Pass Customer Service Center (CSC) will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. only on Dec. 18 and 24, 2009, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. only on December 30. CSC will be closed on Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. CSC is located at the Skyway Complex, Dona Soledad Ave., Barangay Don Bosco, Paranaque City, with hotline number 776-7676 .
Meanwhile, Skyway Project developer, Citra Metro Manila Tollways Corp. (CMMTC), announced that construction activities on the Skyway Stage 2 Project between Bicutan and Alabang will be halted momentarily on December 24, 25, 30 and 31, 2009 and on January 1, 2010 in keeping with Christmas tradition. The five-day respite, however, will not affect the progress of the project which is very much on track despite challenges in managing traffic and working on very limited space. To-date, the project is ahead of the target schedule by 3.34%. Recent activities involved the launching of girders or beams between pierheads and laying of deck slabs on the elevated structure.
Barring circumstances beyond CMMTC and SOMCO's control, the project will be completed on schedule. They again appeal to motorists for their understanding and thank them for their support and cooperation.
