The E-Pass Advantage
Traveling on the Skyway System and the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) becomes truly an express journey with the Skyway O&M Corporation’s electronic toll collection system called E-Pass.
A reloadable transponder or "tag" attached to the car’s windshield under the rearview mirror, the E-Pass allows a vehicle to just slow down through E-Pass lanes. The tag is read by a sensor at the E-Pass lanes in 1.5 seconds—about one-tenth of the 15 seconds it usually takes for manual toll transactions—making entry into and exit out of the Skyway System and SLEX a breeze. Truly, the E-Pass saves time, fuel and vehicle wear and tear for its users.
The E-Pass can be used on the Skyway System’s Buendia-Bicutan elevated section and Magallanes-Alabang at-grade section, and the SLEX’s Alabang-Calamba stretch. Come 2011, the additional 6.88 kilometers at the elevated tollway from Bicutan to Alabang extends the unique privilege that an E-Pass brings.

Using the Activated E-Pass
Within 24 hours of application, the E-Pass privilege is given the green light at the exclusive lanes in the Skyway System toll booths. A yellow or red light means that the E-Pass is already low on or has no balance, respectively.
The E-Pass balance can be checked by calling the Skyway E-Pass Hotline 776-7676, while its reloading (in Php200, Php500 and Php1,000 denominations) may be done through manual means, or automatic replenishment via credit card, telephone banking or online banking. The manual reloading areas may also be done where tag kits are sold.
The need for toll receipts can be offset by requesting a statement of account (SOA) at the Skyway Head Office. Available on a monthly basis, the SOA is recommended for those who monitor their toll expenses and travel patterns. SOAs may be requested by calling the SOA-on-demand Hotline 776-7057.
Since its launch in 2000, E-Pass has grown its subscription to about 100,000. That's nearly a third of the Skyway and SLEX users helping ease traffic and minimize pollution.
